GOT A SPEEDING CAMERA TICKET IN THE MAIL? IT’S NOT A SCAM!
STARTING IN 2025, FLORIDA SCHOOL ZONE SPEED CAMERAS TICKETS STARTED BEING USED TO ENFORCE SPEED LIMITS IN SCHOOL ZONES, DURING ALL SCHOOL HOURS, AND FINES ARE ISSUED TO THE VEHICLE’S REGISTERED OWNER FOR A SPEEDING VIOLATION.
We have been getting hundreds of calls from clients who are unsure of what to do. Is it real? Is it a Scam?
“Jason, HELP! Tell me what I should do!”
I will explain it very simply, and you will then know your options.

STEP 1
This means that a speeding camera detected you (or your car) traveling more than 11 MPH over the limit in that school zone.
A. You can just pay it (usually $100) and there will be No Points on your license, No Insurance increases, and No Suspension of your license, or
B. If you feel it was unjustified, you can also request a hearing before the due date.
What you can NOT do is ignore it. If you do, see Step 2 below.
STEP 2
This is now a regular speeding ticket a/k/a Uniform Traffic Citation. That means that now you CAN NOT just pay it and avoid points on your license, driving school, fines and a possible driver’s license suspension.
What you can NOT do is ignore it. If you do, your Driver’s License will be suspended.
If you’ve received a Florida Uniform Traffic Citation letter, you can hire us to fight your ticket and help you avoid points on your license.
